Officers Hunt For Missing 13-year-old, Troubled Man

police investigation

Portsmouth Police were called in to look for a missing 13-year-old and a man in crisis at two local motels.

At 10 am, a social worker asked officers to check the Four Keys Inn for a man who had left treatment. Previously, the man had taken medication and tried to jump into traffic. However, when police checked the room where he was supposed to be staying, they learned that no one by that name was registered.

Twenty minutes later, police from Kentucky asked officers to check the Holiday Inn for a missing 13-year-old girl whose phone was pinging at the Holiday Inn. They said she might be checked in under her boyfriend’s name or the name of his father.

However, staff at the hotel said that no one with the girl’s name or the boyfriend’s last name had checked in. They also said they hadn’t seen anyone fitting her description.

The reports did not indicate if the child was found in Portsmouth.
