Officers Investigate Screams Under Grant Bridge 

Opioid Crisis Drugs overdose

Witnesses reported a man screaming and talking out of his head under the U.S. Grant Bridge near the river at 6:30 pm. Callers said he appeared to be on drugs.  

When officers went to investigate, they found a man on a platform under the bridge and took him into custody.  

They learned the man had an open warrant from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. They took him into custody for failure to appear and booked him into the Scioto County Jail.  

Two Found Unresponsive at Kwik Stop  

Officers responded to the Kwik Stop on St. Rt. 335 after witnesses reported an unresponsive woman in a vehicle on the lot.  

Deputies and EMS assisting the woman spotted a man stumbling around the lot and slurring his speech, so they called for another ambulance to assist the man. 

EMS transported both individuals to SOMC to treat them for alcohol and cocaine use.  

Woman Overdoses on Laced Heroin 

Officers responded to a report that a woman had overdosed in South Point. When they arrived at the home, members of the fire department told deputies they believed the woman had taken heroin laced with fentanyl.  

EMS administered multiple doses of Narcan to revive her. She told officers she only took a small amount of heroin.  

EMS workers told deputies they believed the woman bought the drugs from another woman who lived in Huntington. EMS workers transported the woman to the hospital.
