A small Ohio town of just 9,904 residents had “something to talk about”

There was a 13-hour standoff in an Ohio town after a man refused to get down from a tree.

The London, Ohio, police found an abandoned car after being called to the crash scene.

To evade police officers, 40-year-old William Taylor climbed the roof of a house and climbed an enormous pine tree. Officials on the scene estimate he was about 40 feet off the ground.

Unlike Zacchaeus from the Bible, this man would not come down.

Taylor didn’t respond to officers’ commands to get down from the tree, police said.

13 hours after going up in the tree, Taylor did something bizarre. He, reportedly, started a fire in the tree.

This picture shows the authorities from the small Ohio town hitting the tree with fire hoses on full blast. The average fire hose blasts waters at 200 lbs per square inch.

The charges against Taylor include inducing panic, aggravated trespassing, arson, and obstructing official business.
