Out-of-Towners Busted With Meth, Coke, Fentanyl, Guns

Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies busted two out-of-towners transporting $20,000 worth of meth, cocaine, and fentanyl as well as illegal firearms after a traffic stop on Sunday morning.

Officers pulled over a reckless driver on U.S. 52 just past the 522 Exit around 4:30 am. During the stop, a deputy spotted a gun underneath the gear shift of the car. The driver gave the officer permission to search, and they uncovered a gallon baggie stuffed with 2lbs of meth as well as two smaller bags filled with meth and cocaine.

When a deputy searched the driver and passenger, they found a suspected drug pipe, pills, and over $1,000 in cash.

Deputies arrested 27-year-old Brian Adkins from For Gay, West Virginia for drug trafficking and drug possession and for having a weapon under a disability.

His passenger, Brittany Hall, 27, also from Fort Gay, was charged with drug possession and drug trafficking.

The pair made their first appearance in Portsmouth Municipal Court this morning.
