Overdose at the Scioto County Courthouse

A sad example of just how bad the addiction problem is in Scioto County. Just after 10 am, Portsmouth Ohio, Police responded to a report of an Overdose in a courtroom at the Scioto County Courthouse.

The Portsmouth Fire Department transported the victim to the hospital and police officers accompanied them and stood by until the Sheriff’s Office arrived.

Child Spots Armed Suspects Outside Home

A West Portsmouth child made a scary discovery when he got up to go to the bathroom just before 1 am.  

He spotted two men with guns snooping around outside his house. He alerted his father, who called 9-1-1.

The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office dispatched deputies to search the area and also contacted the Ohio State Patrol to help look for the suspects.

Deputies spoke to neighbors who had a fire going outside. They said they planned to be up for some time and would keep an eye out if they saw anything suspicious.
