The area around Kendall and 17th is usually an active spot for overdose reports, and this weekend was no exception.
Just before 5 pm, Portsmouth Police responded to a report of an overdose at the Oasis Convenient Mart at 17th and Kendall.
Officers said the male victim refused medical treatment from first responders and turned down an offer of recovery assistance from The Counseling Center.
There was an overdose at 8 pm just down the street at Gallia and Kendall. A man overdosed on the sidewalk next to the street. A medic from the Portsmouth Fire Department revived the man with NARCAN and transported him to a mental health facility to meet with a social worker.
Thirty minutes later, police responded to a report of an overdose in a hotel room at the Royal Inn on Kendall. Officers said the man appeared to be okay when they arrived on the scene.
Half an hour later, officers responded to the Speedway for a report of a man refusing to leave the store. Police arrested a 21-year-old man for criminal trespass. It was his 13th arrest overall and his third arrest in two weeks. He was taken to the Scioto County Jail and released per the court on a $250 bond.
Officers responded to a report of a woman overdosing on 9th Street around 3 am. The Portsmouth Fire Department treated her on the scene, but she refused to go to the hospital.
