Two people living in a dilapidated garage on Mabert Road started a small fire just after 8 am. Firefighters and police responded to the scene and discovered that both Mikel McCleese and Teresa Gilbert had open warrants for theft.

Officers told them to get their belongings out of the garage and called City Services to condemn the property. Police booked them both into the Scioto County Jail.
This was McCleese’s 20th arrest. Previous charges include failure to appear, petty theft, burglary, and domestic violence.
