Now and again, we report on cases where a child wanders away from home. Most of the time, when officers respond to an incident, the parents are not arrested, and the police issue a warning. However, an incident in Wayne Hills on Wednesday evening ended with two adults in custody charged with child endangerment.
Around 5:30 p.m., witnesses reported a child walking around in a diaper at 17th Street and Kendall Avenue.
Officers figured out the child’s father was at a Thomas Avenue Apartment. They contacted CPS, who responded to the apartment.
Officers ended up taking a man and a woman into custody. Preston Queen and Rebekka Tomlin were both charged with endangering children.
