Officers responded to Gay Street after witnesses reported a man blocking traffic.
They said the man, who was wearing a yellow coat, was standing in the middle of the road begging for money.
A few minutes later, another caller said he was at 11th and Chillicothe. An officer spoke to the man and advised him to stay out of the street. They said he headed off toward the Arby’s parking lot.
Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies also investigated a report of people jumping into traffic on US 52 near the Twin Bridges. Witnesses said one man jumped into traffic, and another man had to pull him back.
When officers caught up with the men, they explained that one man was afraid of heights. Officers advised them to stay as close to the guardrail as possible.
A St. Rt. 139 caller reported a man dressed all in black walking in the middle of the road around 6:30 pm. He said he barely missed the man, and the guy responded by throwing a rock at his car. When officers caught up with the man, he was walking on the side of the road. Officers advised him to stay there.
