Paroled Drug Trafficker Busted 8 Times in 13 Months

Parolee Maxwell McGuire finds himself in a familiar place, after once again being arrested by Portsmouth Police officers.

We told you last summer that the 33-year-old convicted drug trafficker had been arrested 6 times since he was released on parole in October of 2021. He’s added two additional arrests to that list since then.

On Friday, officers booked him into the Scioto County Jail for parole violation and probation violation. Back in November, US Marshalls charged him with parole violation, counterfeit, probation violation, and escape. He spent 71 days in jail before being released in January.

Last August, police took him into custody after PMHA security asked PPD to meet them at 10 am to check an apartment. Officers found Maxwell McGuire inside and took him into custody for criminal trespass and probation violation.

You’ll recall that McGuire was arrested twice in the same week back in last May. The convicted drug trafficker was picked up after an officer responded to a report of multiple people fighting with knives and guns in an empty apartment in Farley Square. Officers took Maxwell McGuire into custody. McGuire is currently on parole after serving time for drug trafficking and felonious assault. McGuire was released from jail almost immediately but arrested just a few days later for criminal trespass in the same apartment.

After his release from jail in October 2021, he was also busted on probation or parole violations three times and also charged four times for criminal trespass.

In 2016, he was sent to prison on drug trafficking and assault charges. Other previous charges include 2015 charges of heroin trafficking and parole violation, 2014 charges of probation violation and 2009 charges of aggravated burglary and robbery.
