Parolee Busted With Stolen Goods

Jackson County is cracking down on thefts and law enforcement managed to recover several stolen items.

Officers recovered an 18-foot bumper pull trailer missing from Jackson, Ohio as well as seven semi tires reported stolen from Pike County.

They arrested parolee Jeremy Myers, 36, Hollow Road in Wellston on a parole violation. The trailer was returned to its owner. Myers claims he borrowed the trailer. Police say additional charges may be filed after the Jackson County Prosecutor reviews the case.

In a separate case, deputies recovered a camper reported stolen from Kentucky as well as a mower missing from Bridgeport Equipment.

Jackson Deputies teamed up with Oak Hill Police to search a camper on Swan Airport Road. They discovered someone had removed the camper’s VIN number. When officers called the manufacturer, they helped them find an additional identification number and it turned out the camper had been reported missing from Boyd County, Kentucky.

Police impounded the camper and arrested Timothy Stein, 33, who was living in the camper. The camper will be returned to its owner in Kentucky.

Deputies also recovered a John Deere Zero Turn Mower reported missing from Bridgeport Equipment. They found it at the home of a man who said he traded Stein a crossbow for the item. Stein was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property. His case is set for a hearing on December 30 in Jackson County Municipal Court.

Additional charges may be filed against Stein at the discretion of the prosecutor’s office.
