Passed Out on 5th Street
Just after 9 am, witnesses reported a man passed out in the alley across the street from Hudson House on 5th Street.
When EMS and officers responded to the scene, they learned the man had just left the Counseling Center rehab center and fallen ill. Medics transported the man to the ER, and dispatch contacted the facility to let them know where the man was.
At 9 am, witnesses reported a man had passed out in a black Ford on Bertha Avenue. By the time officers arrived on the scene, a passerby had managed to wake up the man, and he’d left the scene.
At 2 pm, officers were asked by a local counseling center to find a woman in dire straits. They said she was in pain and coming down off methadone, but the hospital had released her. The counselor felt she was in dire need of treatment. Officers located the woman on 25th Street and took her back to the hospital for treatment.
Passed Out on Park Avenue
A Park Avenue resident called the police at 8:42 pm to report a man was passed out in her front yard. She said he appeared to be breathing.
Officers called for a rescue squad and headed to the scene. When police arrived, they discovered the man was severely intoxicated. Police canceled the ambulance and took the man into custody.
Around 7 am, a caller reported a shoeless man passed out in the grass at 10th and Waller. When officers caught up with them, they said he was alert. He told them he’d just left The Counseling Center and planned to walk back to Day One.
