Passed Out at McDonald’s and Suspicious Activity Around The County

We frequently tell you about the colorful characters that show up at Portsmouth businesses, but stores out in the county get their fair share of trouble as well.

At 5:23 am, the Rosemount Marathon on St. Rt. 139 reported a man in a camo jacket sleeping by the air pump. The store asked him to leave multiple times, but he refused.  By the time officers arrived on the scene, he was gone.

Two hours later, police got a call from County Store Foods South on St. Rt. 140 about an apparently high man swerving around before pulling into the parking lot of the store. He left before officers arrived.

A little bit after 9 am, officers were called to the McDonald’s in Wheelersburg for a report of a man who kept passing out in the drive-thru. The man left before officers arrived.

Around 3 am, a man overdosed in a PT Cruiser at a pump at the Super Quick on Galena Pike. The car doors were locked, but he finally woke up and opened the door.

Just after 3 pm, a caller reported a man lying in the road in front of the Dollar General Store on Gallia. Several units responded to the scene. The man was out of the road by the time officers arrived.

An employee of Arnett Auto Service spotted a suspicious man walking around the area for two hours and asked police to check on him. Officers said the man appeared to be okay. The officer offered to arrange for a ride home for the man, but he wasn’t interested.

At 3:45 pm, the Family Dollar on 11th Street reported an apparently high man on the premises. An officer transported the man to SOMC.
