Passed Out at the Wheel With Powder on His Nose

Passed out at the wheel

A report of an unresponsive man behind the wheel in South Webster turned into an arrest after deputies arrived to find a crowd around the vehicle and questions about possible missing medication.

Scioto County sheriff’s deputies were called just before 1 a.m. after someone reported a man unresponsive inside a white Chevy Malibu.

By the time deputies arrived, the man was awake.

The caller told dispatchers the man had powder coming from his nose and that his pants were falling down.

Deputies arrived to find several people gathered around the scene.

The man was detained, and EMS was called.

Deputies later transported him to Southern Ohio Medical Center for medical clearance while another deputy stayed behind to collect information about a possible theft of medication.

Police ultimately arrested Paul Blankenship on a charge of failure to appear and booked him into the Scioto County Jail.

The available report does not say what the powder was, whether any drugs were found, or whether anyone was charged in connection with the possible missing medication.

So the call began with a man passed out in a car and ended with a hospital trip, a warrant arrest, and deputies still sorting out whether someone’s medication had gone missing.
