Passed Out & Lying Around the County

Despite the tireless efforts by law enforcement and treatment professionals, People continue to be passed out and lying in various places around the county. Let's take a quick look at what police officers have had to deal with in the last few days. Passed Out at Alexandria House Residents of the Alexandria House Apartments on Findlay have complained frequently about issues with homeless people coming into their buildings. Just after 7 am, a caller reported a man in an orange shirt passed out on the property. When officers investigated, they learned he was a homeless man taking a nap. The officer explained that non-residents could not be on the property and the man moved along. At 4:45 pm, employees at the Sonic Drive-In reported a man in an orange shirt passed out on the curb. When officers checked it out, they said the man seemed coherent and had been asleep. They advised him to move along. At 5:30 pm, a Gallia Street caller reported a woman walking in the road. Officers said the woman appeared to have mental health issues, and they advised her to use the sidewalk. Employees of the Holiday Inn reported a shirtless, shoeless man hanging around in front of the building. When officers caught up with the man near the Park Apartments, he refused medical and police assistance. Drunk Stranger Passes Out in Boundary Street Front Yard Officers responded to multiple reports of people down on the ground and out of it over the weekend. Police responded to Boundary Street at 10 pm after a caller reported a drunk man had passed out in the yard. The officer noted the man was highly intoxicated and could not speak English. They sent for an ambulance, and medics transported the man to the hospital. Five minutes later, a Valley Street caller reported a woman passed out on the sidewalk. When officers arrived, the woman said she had felt dizzy, but was fine now and refused any medical attention. At 11:55 pm, a Coles Avenue caller said an apparently high man fell over on the back porch of a house and hadn’t moved in some time. At 4 am, a man passed out in his car and fell onto his horn on Gallia Street. Officers detained the driver until a sober party came to take him home.
