Patricia Ann Thurman, 65, of West Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Ohio State University Hospital. She was born June 29, 1960, to the late Otis and Lucy (Armstrong) Lewis-Thurman. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Otis Thurman Jr. and Carl D. Lewis; 2 sisters, Carless Coburn and Charlotte Thomas; as well as many cherished animals she had adopted over the years.
Patricia was a devoted professional, animal lover, and beloved member of her community. A proud graduate and Valedictorian of the Portsmouth West Class of 1978, she went on to earn her associate’s degree and built a remarkable 40+ year career with AAA, serving many titles before retiring. Patricia was deeply engaged in her passions—she held a membership at the Columbus Museum of Art, and was both a board member and volunteer at Sierra’s Haven, where she poured her heart into helping animals. Her love for cats was unmatched, especially for her cherished companion, Pollyanna. Above all, Patricia loved her family dearly and was an extraordinary aunt—so much so that she earned the cherished titles of “great aunt” and “great-great aunt.” Her warmth, dedication, and compassion will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by 2 brothers, James (April) Thurman and Bill (Tamara) Thurman; many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends, that will miss her and cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Mark Bales and Jeanne Harris officiating and interment to follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
