Patricia “Patty” Faye Riley Hilterbrand passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 74. Patty was born on October 20, 1951, in Carter City, Kentucky, to her parents, Milford Cooper and Edith Mangus Thomas.
Patty was a longtime resident of Wheelersburg and worked for many years as a CNA, serving her community in Morehead, Kentucky. She loved spending time with her family and snuggling with her little dog, Sandy. Patty also enjoyed watching soap operas and playing games on her phone.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Leslie Monroe II; four sisters; and three brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Monroe Rister of Portsmouth, Ohio; and her grandchildren: Natacha Trent of Portsmouth, Ohio; Melissa Haughaboo of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; Justin Rister and Kelly (Brittany) Rister, both of Vanceburg, Kentucky; Constance (Lawrence) Lamb of Berea, Kentucky; Derek (Megan) Monroe of Paintsville, Kentucky; Tierra (Dylan Moore) Monroe of Lexington, Kentucky; Cierra (Ben) Brag of Fayetteville, West Virginia; and Erek (Anastasia) Ellis of Morehead, Kentucky. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as three sisters and one brother. Patty will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
