Patricia J. “Patty” Boggs Newsome, 82, of South Shore, KY., went to be with her Lord Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH. She was born in Springfield, OH., May 20, 1942, a daughter of the late Harry G. and Barbara Webb Boggs.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Newsome, who passed away in 2013.
Patty was a longtime member of the Liberty Church, Lynn, KY., and retired after 33 years from SOMC in dietary where she was dearly loved by her co-workers who affectionately called her “PattyCake”. She enjoyed her flowers and mowing the lawn and was always ready for a new adventure, whether it involved the beach, country music, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. Patty was cherished by many who always said she was a special lady with the sweetest personality. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicki (Frank) Higginbotham of South Shore, KY., and Michelle (Bob) Berry of Manson, NC; one son, Jimmy (Melissa) Newsome of South Shore, KY; six grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Tessa, Brandon, Austin and Kyle; nine great-grandchildren, DJ, Emerie, Amelia, Matthew, Ellie, Easton, Eli, Hannah, Ryan and many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Brett Newland officiating. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the funeral home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and from 12 P.M. until the funeral hour on Sunday.
