Paul Lavon ‘Von’ York, 65, of Portsmouth, died at home on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Born December 16, 1960, in Portsmouth, he was the son of the late Elizabeth Ann Messer York and Paul William York.
A 1979 graduate of Portsmouth High School, Von worked as a traveling salesman and delivery driver for Bihl Office Supply for more than 35 years. He enjoyed billiards, darts, and reading, especially books by Stephen King.
Survivors include his children, Paul David York and Courtney Lynn (Tyler Gaines) York, both of Portsmouth; and a special daughter, Kaitlin Boldman of Sciotoville, and her children, Arianna, Kameron and Charlie. Von treasured the many friends with whom he played pool and darts, and he returned their friendship with steadfast loyalty.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Marchetta Coffman and Mark Anthony ‘Tony’ Piccolo.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Boyd Shugert officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM prior to the service.
