Pearl Ann Allen, 90, of Wheelersburg, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in McDermott. Pearl was born December 1, 1933, in Portsmouth to the late Roy Swearingen and Gladys Tatman Swearingen.

Pearl was employed as a Registered Nurse at the former Mercy Hospital. She was a member of Wheelersburg Methodist Church and volunteered with the Methodist Young at Hearts and Thursday Youth. She was also a member of the Wheelersburg Garden Club.

In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles William Hopper, on June 20, 1983, and Don Allen on January 26, 2015. She was also preceded in death by Roy “Bud” Swearingen Jr., Ira Swearingen, Paulene Swearingen, Shirley Shupert, and Patricia Coleman; stepson Mike Allen (Brenda, his wife survives); and stepdaughter Sue Hall.

Pearl is survived by two sons, William Michael (Anita) Hopper and Brian Patrick (Karen) Hopper and a step-son Chris (Lisa) Allen; two brothers, Wilbur Swearingen and John Swearingen and two sisters, Gretchen McGlone and Cheryl Lauder; grandchildren, Steven (Danielle) Luster, Tonia (Lee) Floyd, Corey (Jamie) Allen, Terry (Stacy ) Hall, Julie (Larry) Angel, Derrick (Rachel) Hall, Julie (Jesse) Dadosky, Sarah Allen, Rachael (Andrew) Rawlings, Shannon (Clint) Roth, Kristen Campbell (fiancé Matt), Ryan (Nikki) Hopper, Laura (Jacob) Aubill, Stephanie (Jim) Cantrell, Aaron (Hanna) Hopper and Alison (Dakota) Walker; several great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.

Services for Pearl will be 1:00 pm Friday, July 19, 2024 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home Friday 11:00 until the 1:00 pm service.
