There’s been a long-standing issue with people injured in drive-by BB gun shootings, many of them linked to alleged online challenges.
You’ll recall multiple incidents where unknown individuals have fired shots and even hit city workers, pregnant women, children, and disabled individuals around town.
Several teenagers were taken into custody after firing shots at a pregnant woman and Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer told SCDN it was just a matter of time before someone shot back with real bullets. Police are actively trying to curtail this issue before it turns into an irreversible catastrophe.
However, it seems people never learn, and just after 3:30 a.m., officers responded to King’s Daughters’ Hospital for a report of an injured person shot with a BB gun near Portsmouth High School.
Police impounded an item and took information for a report.
