Phyllis Ann Stapleton, Age 79, of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at Best Care Nursing and Rehabilitation in Wheelersburg. Phyllis was born June 13, 1940, in Portsmouth to James and Plury (Eldridge) Stiltner. She was a graduate of East High School and Duke University where she graduated with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. Phyllis worked for 15 years as a Respiratory Therapist. She also owned a company in New Orleans that made various pottery products. She eventually moved to Tylertown, MS and then recently to Wheelersburg. Phyllis was a member of North Moreland Lighthouse Church in New Boston and more than anything, loved spending time with her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, John Lore; sons, George and wife, Beanie Stapleton of Germany, Charles and wife, Stephanie Stapleton of Concord, NC; daughter, Johnny and husband, Rodney Bay of Ameet, LA; brothers, John Stiltner of New Orleans, Tom Stiltner of New Orleans; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Stapleton as well as two brothers, Jim and Sam Stiltner.
Private services will be held at the family’s convenience due to the national health advisories. Arrangements are being handled by WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville.
