Piketon, Waverly Police Throw Down

police challenge

The Waverly and Piketon, Ohio Police Departments issued hilarious video challenges to each other on social media.  So, what’s the beef between these two small-town police departments in Pike County?

It’s all part of the Run For The Badge 5K to raise money for The National Law Enforcement Museum and Memorial. In the opening salvo, Waverly Police Chief Zachary Dixon called Piketon Police Chief Brock Clemmons and declared that the citizens of Waverly can raise more money for the cause than Piketon residents. Dixon said, “My department is putting a team together to run in this. We wanted to issue a challenge to your department. because, quite frankly, I’m sure our community is going to get behind us and raise more donations that your department can.”

Chief Dixon then suggested Chief Clemmons have a donut while he mulled over the challenge.  Dixon shared a video of himself decked out in wild workout gear practicing for the event.

Challenge Accepted

Piketon Police responded with a video of their own.  Chief Brock Clemmons is shown running before taking Chief Dixon’s advice to grab a donut. Clemmons then looks into the camera and says, “Challenge accepted.”

In a statement on the department’s Facebook page, Clemmons posted, “Chief Brock Clemmons would like to state CHALLENGE ACCEPTED to Chief Dixon of Waverly Police Department. I believe our village can do better!!!!!!”
