Pit Bull Falsely Accused of Attack? 

Deputies responded to a report that a pit bull had gotten loose and attacked a woman in Wheelersburg just after 1 pm. 

When officers arrived on the scene, the woman and the dog owners were actively engaged in an argument about the matter.  

The animal’s owners had witnesses and pictures that showed the alleged victim was on their property, and the dog went to check out who was there. Further, they said they have an invisible fence, and the dog does not leave the property.  

The alleged victim also had a witness, and deputies advised them to stay away from each other. There were no injuries.  

Ambulance Shortage – Elderly Man Waits for Help 

At 3:19 pm, 911 Dispatch received a report of a medical alarm from an elderly man in distress. The first squad dispatch paged said they only had one EMT and needed another squad to assist.  

At 3:29, another squad responded but said they only had one EMT and couldn’t respond by themselves. They suggested that dispatch contact Portsmouth Ambulance. 

Portsmouth Ambulance picked up the patient at 4 pm.   

Asleep at the Wheel on Millers Run-Back Run Road 

Just after 8 am, EMS responded to a report of a man passed out in a truck on Millers Run – Back Run Road. 

When EMS arrived at the scene, they reported that the man was passed out and his car was still in drive. Dispatch contacted the Ohio State Patrol to respond to the scene. .  

Shots Reported on Cedar Drive 

Just after 1 am, a caller contacted 911 to report she heard shots being fired, possibly coming from Pond Creek Road.  

Five minutes later, another caller said they heard shots in the area of Cedar Drive, possibly coming from Carey’s Run-Pond Creek Road.  

Multiple units searched the area but didn’t hear any shots being fired, though one did observe a vehicle leave the area.
