What began as a confusing call from hotel staff ended with an arrest at the Quality Inn.
Front desk employees contacted authorities after a distraught woman came to the desk and asked them to call the sheriff’s office. Dispatch notes indicate the front desk worker had limited information about what was happening and appeared eager to end the call quickly.
When a Scioto County Sheriff’s deputy arrived to sort out the situation, the woman told officers she had been drinking and was upset because a male companion would not let her drive to get pizza.
While the dispute itself did not rise to the level of a crime, dispatch confirmed the male involved had an active warrant out of another county.
That discovery changed the outcome of the call.
Deputies took David Porter into custody on an outstanding failure-to-appear warrant. He was transported to the Scioto County Jail and booked without further incident.
What started as a late-night hotel drama over pizza ended with a reminder that outstanding warrants have a way of catching up—sometimes in the most unexpected places.
