Child Found Wandering

At 6:45 pm, a caller reported finding a small child wandering on Thomas Avenue with no parents in sight.

It turned out the child followed its grandpa out the door on Wayne Avenue and no one noticed. The child was returned to its parents before police arrived on the scene.

Officers advised the parents to be more careful.

Welfare Check

Police assisted Florida Children Services with a welfare check on a child at a Marshall Avenue home. Police took a man into custody on an open warrant from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.

A resident gave police permission to search the home but there was no child inside. A man told police the child was hospitalized in Columbus with a broken leg. He said the child was injured in a car wreck.
