Police Investigate After Shots Fired at Homeless Camp

shots fired

We’ve reported on several incidents requiring police response at local homeless camps in the past few weeks, and officers responded to yet another incident just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday night.

A witness reported hearing four gunshots near the homeless camp at 9th and Broadway. Officers learned a man had fired four shots near the railroad tracks.

Witnesses said the man was spotted walking by the tracks headed in the direction of Burger King. A search by officers yielded two shell casings, which they impounded.

Police took information for a report. This incident remains under investigation.
