Police Investigate Sexual Assault

Portsmouth Police Officers are investigating a report of a sexual assault.

Just after 8 am, a woman contacted officers and said she’d been sexually assaulted sometime Tuesday. Police responded to the woman’s apartment to take information for a report and impounded clothing for the investigation. 

Police also arranged to have the items tested and picked up the results later in the evening.

Woman Says Man Tried To Get Into Her Car at Stop Sign

A woman contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office at 11 pm to report a man attempted to get into her vehicle at St. Rte. 125 and US HWY 52 when she was stopped at a stop sign. 

Offices responded to the area and located the man. He said he wasn’t trying to get into her car; he was just attempting to ask for a ride.

A deputy drove him into Portsmouth and dropped him at Grandview and US 52.

Angry Customer Throws Food at Giovanni’s 

An upset customer expressed his displeasure by throwing food on employees’ cars at the Lucasville Giovanni’s on Monday afternoon.

Just before 3 pm, deputies investigated a report that a customer had been arguing with employees and threw food on their cars before leaving the scene. 

Officers spoke with the man and discovered that he and his female companion had been barred from the business. The angry man threw a contained of Wendy’s fires at the exterior of the restaurant.

Backpack Full of Drugs Found on St. Rte. 139

Deputies from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office responded to St. Rte. 139 after a caller reported finding a backpack filled with some interesting stuff.

The caller said the backpack contained multiple drugs and a cell phone. A deputy responded to the scene and impounded the items in question.
