Police Investigate When Child Overdoses 

Officers responded to a local hospital after a report that a juvenile had overdosed.  

Police headed to the child’s Portsmouth residence to investigate. 

Officers took an adult at the child’s residence to the station for a voluntary urine sample and then transported him home.  

Police took information for a report.  

Overdose at Kroger 

At 8 am, witnesses reported a man overdosing in a black car in the Kroger parking lot. Witnesses said the man was asleep with drugs in plain view in the front seat. 

When officers arrived on the scene, the man had left. Police impounded the suspected drugs and located the man in the Advance Auto Parking Lot.  

Police read the man his rights and then transported him back to his vehicle in the parking lot. They warned him a report would be filed and the suspected drugs sent for testing.  

At 11:40 am, witnesses reported a woman overdosing in a vehicle on Kent Street. Officers took the woman into custody and arranged for a tow company to pick up the car. 

Passed Out at the Wheel at Marathon Station 

At 3:25 am, witnesses reported a man slumped over in a vehicle parked at the gas pumps. 

Police took the man into custody and arranged for a tow company to take his vehicle. Officers booked the man into the Scioto County Jail.
