Portsmouth Ambulance Reports Threats From Former Employee

The Human Resources Department of Portsmouth Ambulance contacted Portsmouth Police to report an issue with an employee who had recently been let go. The owner said the former employee had called in threats and refused to leave the property.

Once the company called the police, the man left. However, the owner wanted officers to speak to the man and bar him from the property.

Police caught up with the man who claimed that he had spoken to management when they fired him, but had never made a threat.

Officers advised the company on the process of filing a protection order.

Police Investigate Knife Assault on the Scioto Trail

A man contacted police at 6:25 am to report that the woman who lives above him at a residence on the Scioto Trail, threw a knife down the stairs at him. He said he had injuries from the knife and that the woman fled the scene.

He gave the police the woman’s name and description, but officers could not locate her. Police took information for a report. 

Just after 8 am, police responded to another incident involving a weapon. A woman said while she was walking her dog, another woman drove by waving a gun around on 7th Street. Police took information for a report.

Vagrant Harasses Grandview Avenue Homeowner 

A Grandview Avenue homeowner contacted Portsmouth Police just before 6 pm to report a strange man outside her home who kept asking for money. She described him as wearing gray pants and a blue shirt. 

When officers caught up with the man, he told them he was going to walk into traffic and attempted to flee. Officers detained him and sent for EMS personnel.

An ambulance transported him to SOMC for treatment.
