Looking for some fun outdoor activities in June? Portsmouth Connex has you covered. The non-profit organization that promotes outdoor activities has kayaking, biking, and a party at the Portsmouth Skate Park on their calendar.
June 2 – P-town Float
Take a relaxing journey down the Ohio River via paddleboard or kayak. Participants will meet at the Court Street Landing at 8:30 am for the free event.
Slow Drip Coffee and Sunshine catering will be there to offer breakfast items before participants enjoy a 7 mile float to the West Portsmouth Marina. Kayakers must wear a life vest. To participate, please pre-register by emailing director@explorescioto.com.
June 15- The Wild Ride
This paid event offers bicyclists 5 different paved road paths and two gravel routes through Shawnee State Forest. The experience is designed to challenge and inspire cyclists of all levels. Roving support stations will be on hand to assist riders during the trek.
Paved Paths:
- The Cottontail – 9 miles/603 feet elevation
- The Bear Cub – 16.5 miles/998 feet elevation
- The Bobcat – 30 miles/2091 feet elevation
- The Rattler – 60 miles/3454 feet elevation
- The Tick – 101 miles/6054 feet elevation
Gravel Routes:
- The Hawk – 34 miles/3402 feet elevation
- The Storm – 60 miles/5858 feet elevation

June 29 – Skate Park Jam
The free Portsmouth Skate Park offers a day filled with food, music, and skateboarding. the event features food trucks, helmet giveaways, live music vendors, and skateboarding competitions.
