A young woman is alive thanks to the actions of medics from the Portsmouth Fire Department.

At 12:22 am, Portsmouth Police Officers and PFD personnel responded to a report of a 26-year-old woman not breathing on North Hill Road.

Medics revived her with Narcan, and she was alert by the time police arrived on the scene. The woman refused additional medical treatment.

A passerby saved a man in the process of overdosing on the Scioto Trail later that day. Just before noon, callers reported the man nodding out. Fortunately, someone administered Narcan before PFD medics and officers arrived.

The man refused further medical treatment but did agree to go for help with a member of the Crisis Response Team.
