Shoplifter Drives Off With Kroger Haul – Doesn’t Get Far

Just before 10 pm, Kroger employees reported that a woman loaded up her vehicle with groceries and left the store without paying. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. 

About 20 minutes later, they caught up with the suspect at the BP on Gallia. Officers went to a 19th Street residence to retrieve the stolen property. 

Police took the woman into custody for theft. This was her 6th trip to the Scioto County Jail. Police busted her on a Pike County warrant for theft back in October and for driving under suspension in March of last year. 

Previous charges include contributing to the delinquency of a minor and driving under suspension. 

Woman Wigs Out At Kroger Checkout

Officers responded to Kroger on Gay Street just before 9 am after a woman lost her cool at the checkout. The upset woman was yelling at employees, telling them she wouldn’t be able to make her car payment. 

When officers arrived on the scene, they learned the woman accidentally ran her debit cart instead of her EBT card for a purchase. 

Kroger agreed to refund that amount back to her debit card and charge the purchase to her EBT card. 

Woman Busted After Wallet Stolen at Kroger

Officers responded to Kroger at 3:52 pm for a report of a stolen wallet. Police took information for a report and began an investigation. 

Just after 7 pm, they took a woman into custody at the store, and she agreed to show them where she put the wallet from the theft. 

Officers found it in the dumpster behind Domino’s Pizza on Gay Street. Police took a 33-year-old woman into custody and charged her with theft and possession of heroin. 

She was released per the court.
