A Portsmouth, Ohio man is in big trouble after multiple agencies raided three residences in Portsmouth on Monday afternoon.
Samuel D. Holmes, 41, of 615 3rd Street in Portsmouth was arrested and is in the Scioto County jail without bond.
Officers from the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, Portsmouth Police Department SWAT, Chillicothe Police Department SWAT, were assisted by officers from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, Portsmouth Police Department, and the Scioto County Prosecutor’s office in executing search warrants at three houses. The residences were located at 615 3rd Street, 619 3rd Street, and 2019 20th Street.
During the search, officers found 343 grams of suspected crystal meth and 10 grams of suspected cocaine with a street value of $7800. They also seized nine firearms and $15,877 in cash.
A warrant for Holmes’ arrest had been issued by the Scioto County Common Pleas Court after he was indicted by the Grand Jury. The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the county prosecutors office presented evidence of Holmes’ criminal offenses including trafficking in cocaine and tampering with evidence.
The case is still under investigation.
