A troubled man with a long record overdosed in Tracy Park and officers get help for an elderly woman in trouble. We break down the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing. 

Naked on 11th Street

Just before 5:30 pm, a caller reported a man next to Bob & Floyd’s exposing his private parts and peeing in the bushes. 

Police were unable to locate him.

Patient Shaken at Nursing Facility

Police responded to a local nursing home just before 6 pm to take a report of a patient who claimed someone shook him too hard. 

The man was quite upset. Police took information for a report.

Welfare Check

At 5:51 pm, police responded to a daughter’s request for a wellness check on her 82-year-old mother. The daughter said the woman has health problems and she hadn’t been able to get in touch with her that day.

Officers went to the Coles Ridge home and summoned medical assistance for the mother. An ambulance transported her to the hospital. 

Suspicious Activity

A Sunrise Avenue woman called police a 7:12 pm to report someone keeps knocking on her door and not answering when he asks who it is. Officers checked the area. They didn’t see anything unusual, but a man said he saw a woman carrying a pizza box knock on the door earlier and then leave.

Woman Reports Mean Roomie

Just after 9 am, a woman called the police to report that her roommates were mean and helping themselves to her money. 

Officers went to the home, but there was no answer at the door. 

Rental Truck Reported Stolen

Just after 11 am, a woman called police to report a stolen rental truck. She said she gave the key to a man a few days prior, but she wasn’t sure exactly when and didn’t have a copy of the rental agreement. 

However, the officer remembered that the same truck had been involved in a recent crash and may have been picked up by the rental company. Police had no luck contacting the rental company for more information. 

Troubled Man Overdoses in Tracy Park

Just after 2 pm, officers responded to a report of a man lying facedown on the sidewalk in Tracy Park.

Medics from the Portsmouth Fire department were able to revive him with a dose of Narcan. The man, who has contact with police on a near-daily basis and has been arrested over 50 times, agreed to go with a representative of a rehab facility and seek help.
