Portsmouth, Ohio Murder Suspect appeared before Judge Kuhn via teleconference from the Scioto County Jail. Benny R. Kilgore,38, of Franklin Furnace has been charged with murder, aggravated murder with possible weapons specifications.
Here is the transcript from his brief appearance before Judge Kuhn today.
Judge Kuhn: Sir, I’m going to appoint Attorney Richard Wilson to represent you on this case. Have you been served with a copy of your indictment?
Kilgore: Yes sir, your honor.
Judge Kuhn: Sir, you’re charged with count one, aggravated murder, an unclassified felony, which if convicted, would carry a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole. It also carries a maximum fine of $25,000.00. Now, to the indictment of murder, also unclassified felony, if convicted, that offense will carry a sentence of 15 years to life in prison. And the maximum fine up to $25,000.00. Each of those also contain firearm specifications, which if found guilty of either of those offenses, in counts of used, brandished, or indication possessed or used a firearm, then the offense would carry a mandatory three-year prison sentence.
The victim, Derick R. Holsinger, 33, was found dead inside an apartment in Wayne Hills on Saturday of the Labor Day weekend.
Still Wanted: Anthony Louderback
Portsmouth Police continue searching for Anthony L. Louderback. PPD said Louderback has active warrants for his arrest from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections and Portsmouth Municipal Court.
Investigators want to talk to him about possible involvement in Holsinger’s murder. They say he is considered armed and dangerous. PPD asked that anyone with information on his whereabouts contact their local law enforcement or call Portsmouth Police Dispatch Center at 740-353-4101.
According to Portsmouth Police records, they spent nine hours conducting a search warrant to process a room at the Royal Inn. Additionally, multiple officers were involved in transporting an impounded vehicle to be processed for evidence.
