Portsmouth Parolee Busted For 64th Time After Sharp Stick Report

Officers took a Portsmouth man into custody for at least the 64th time after a caller reported a man walking near 5th Street and Campbell Avenue with a sharp stick.  

Johnny Shane Warner is currently on parole for drug possession and failure to appear. According to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitations and Corrections, he was released on parole on July 27. 

The 49-year-old man’s previous arrests include at least a dozen counts of parole violation, disorderly conduct, tampering with evidence, aggravated possession of drugs, forgery, failure to appear, breaking and entering, probation violation, contempt, petty theft, and criminal trespass. 

Officers picked up another parolee after a school employee reported a man lying in the parking lot at Portsmouth High School. When police arrived they discovered a parolee with an open warrant from the state. Officers took the man into custody and booked him into the Scioto County Jail. He was immediately released.
