Portsmouth Police Investigate Haunted House

Strange Happenings

Hey, That’s My Stuff

Police responded to a report of a phone stolen from a vehicle at Aldi’s just before 8 am. An officer took information for a report.

A man contacted police just after noon to say he found his stolen trailer parked at a 12th Street home. However, police said the trailer was legally registered to someone else in Ohio.

Towed Away

Police towed a vehicle after a traffic stop on Grandview at 9:41 am. They cited the driver for driving under a suspended license and driving with expired tags. The vehicle was impounded.

Officers also arranged for a tow truck to hook up a previously ticked vehicle preventing garbage trucks from getting down Chestnut Street at 9:51 am.

Grocery Heist

A man in a black hoodie took off from Kroger with a shopping cart full of food he didn’t bother to pay for.

He had a getaway driver standing by and took off. A citizen followed the man to a Waller Street address but officers were unable to locate him.

Police took information for a report.

Robbery Fallout

Medics transported a man who was injured in a robbery the previous night to SOMC just after 4 pm. He was reportedly in bad emotional shape after being injured by a woman the night before.

He was able to identify the suspect and police took a report.

Under The Influence

Police responded to Kroger for a report of a found baggie of possible drugs just after 6 pm. Officers impounded the baggie.

Running and Screaming

Just after 8 pm, officers responded to a report of a shirtless man running down 8th Street while screaming. Officers could not locate him.

Haunted House

Police responded to a report of a possibly haunted apartment just after 8:30 pm. A Wayne Avenue resident said their neighbor is out of town but stuff was moving around inside the apartment.

The neighbor was concerned that since the resident was into spiritual stuff, the house could be haunted.

Police said everything appeared to be secure from the outside. According to the police report, “All secure and inside looks undisturbed… by anything.”
