Portsmouth Police Reports: Furious at the Food Bank

Police responded to a report of a disturbance at the food bank at Cornerstone United Methodist just before 11 am.

A man refused to leave the property because his license was misplaced. He believed a volunteer had it but the volunteer believed she’d handed it back to him.

Food bank volunteers agreed to make every effort to look for the missing ID. The man agreed to leave the property.

Barricaded Subject

PPD assisted US Marshalls with a barricaded subject at a Poplar Street Home at 7:40 am. The subject was taken into custody just before 8 pm.

Camping Out in a Car

PPD checked out a report of people living in a vehicle parked in the lot of North Moreland Christian Baptist Church at 11 am.

The caller said people had lived there for several days. The female driver had a valid license but the vehicle was inoperable.

She agreed to have it towed from the property. Officers said they would check back in a day or two.
