Portsmouth Woman Faces Drug Trafficking Charges 

A Portsmouth, Ohio woman faces multiple charges related to drug trafficking after the Scioto County Grand Jury 41-year-old Brandi Bevins 7 different charges during its latest session. 

While Bevins has been booked into the Scioto County Jail on three previous occasions, the charges were far less serious. She faced a charge of driving under suspension and probation violation in 2016 and a count of possession of a drug abuse instrument in 2011.  

Now Bevins is charged with two counts of aggravated drug trafficking, two counts of aggravated possession, tampering with evidence, trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine, trafficking in fentanyl, and possession of fentanyl. 

Two other local women also face drug-related charges.  

Amy James, 42, of Portsmouth, was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs, possession of criminal tools, and possessing drug paraphernalia.  

James has seven previous arrests including possessing drug abuse instruments, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, probation violation, receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct, and DUI. 

Shaina Stephenson, 32, was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs. Stephenson was arrested for drug possession back in 2020 and for probation violation in 2021.
