Some folks seem to be taking the name High Street a little too seriously in Portsmouth. Police responded to a number of calls related to drugs and alcohol on Thursday. One man even suggested that officers should shoot him. We’ve also got a warning about a Facebook Marketplace ripoff, and other strange doings.  These are just the highlights from the lengthy police log. Police were called to the Scioto Trail at 12:18 am for a report of someone egging cars. The eggers were gone by the time officers arrived.

At 9:36, officers responded to Summit Street for a report of a child hit in the chest by a brick. They said the brick bounced off a windshield while someone was attempting to bust it out. It turned out that no juvenile was struck. Police took information for a criminal damaging report.

Police were called to Gallia and Kendall at 4 am for a report of a man selling hanging baskets. He claims he found them in the dumpster and though he would sell them. Officers suggested he go home and go to bed.

Police received a call from Hudson House just before 3 am. A woman said someone has been going into her room when she’s away and steaking her knick-knacks. She says her doors are locked but somehow the thief gets in. Officers advised her to have PMHA change the lock.
