PPD INVESTIGATES WAYNE HILLS STABBING MYSTERY

A chaotic overnight disturbance in Wayne Hills involving reports of a man with a knife took another strange turn hours later when Portsmouth police were called to the emergency room over a stabbing victim. Just after midnight, officers responded to Wayne Hills after callers reported an older man wearing jeans and a gray shirt was causing a disturbance while armed with a knife. According to dispatch traffic, witnesses also heard someone yell that a person had been stabbed. Callers said the man was last seen walking toward Oasis Carryout. 🚨 POLICE STOP MAN MATCHING DESCRIPTION Officers located a man matching the description a few minutes later and detained him while they investigated. Police read the man his rights and interviewed multiple people connected to an altercation at an apartment nearby. However, according to the report, those involved told officers they did not want to pursue charges or file complaints. Police also said they were unable to locate the original person who reported the alleged stabbing near the roadway. The man detained by officers was eventually released back to his residence. 👀 THEN CAME THE HOSPITAL CALL But the night wasn’t over. Around 4:30 a.m., officers were called to Southern Ohio Medical Center after hospital staff reported a man had arrived at the emergency room with a stab wound. Police responded both to the hospital and another address connected to the investigation and took information for a report.
