Officers attended to a mix of calls on Friday including a man in women’s clothing harassing kids, a stroller that may or may not contain a baby, and a couple of attacks on innocent cars. We break down the highlights in these next 9 slides.
Criminal Damaging
Just after 12:30 am, officers were called to JJ Shenanigans for a report of a damaged vehicle. Both passenger-side windows were busted out. The hood was scratched and dented plus the driver-side mirror was smashed.
The caller suspected someone who’d been asked to leave the bar earlier in the evening. Police took information for a report.
Under The Influence
- Officers answered a call to Harding Avenue to check on a woman after a caller said she heard her threaten to burn the house down. Police said she was high on drugs. They cautioned her about making threats.
- Police were called to the CVS on 11th Street for a report of an apparently high woman with a baby stroller in the cosmetic aisle. Employees were concerned because the woman hadn’t checked on the stroller, though they weren’t positive there was actually a baby in the stroller. Police caught up with her and discovered there was a bench warrant for her arrest. There’s no mention of a baby in the police report.
Suspicious Activity
- Just after 6 am, a Franklin Avenue caller reported a man on a ladder at the house next door. By the time police arrived, he was gone.
- Just before noon, a caller reported an adult male wearing women’s clothing harassing school kids near Trojan Coliseum. He didn’t have any warrants and police moved him on.
Hit And Run
A 10:17 a man informed police he’d been in in the parking lot of the Marathon on Gay Street. An officer reported he was walking with a limp. He said the woman that hit him said she didn’t see him there and then just drove off. The station said it would email a copy of the surveillance video and left.
Out of Order
Officers received a report of a woman causing a disturbance in the lobby of the Scioto County Courthouse at 10:24 am. She assaulted deputies who then arrested her.
Reported Rape
A woman called police to report a rape that happened several months ago. Police told her they could not take that type of report over the phone and that she would need to come into the station.
Hey, That’s My Stuff
- A Timlin Road caller informed police just before 3 pm about a missing $500 leaf blower. They took information for a report.
- Police answered a call at the City Service building just at 4:15 pm for a man going through the back of one of the trucks. Police took information for a report.
- Just before 5 pm, a caller from the Dollar General on Harding reported that a man stole items and fled in a gold Honda. An employee got the license plate number. Police took information for a report.
Family Feud
A custody dispute brought police to a 6th Street home at 5:30 pm. The mother reported her ex-husband was yelling in front of her children. The children went to her sister’s house but she was afraid he might still be inside her home.
The custody agreement stated he could take the children any time he wasn’t working. But the mom said the kids didn’t want to go. He left before the police arrived. Officers advised her to call them if there are more issues.
Casting The First Stone
- Officers received a report of kids throwing rocks at a vehicle on Jackson Street just before 8 pm. They advised the parents of the kids who said they’d make them behave. The caller reported that the children came back and apologized before the police arrived.
- Just after 11 pm, police answered a call to McConnel Avenue about a group of kids yelling and pounding on the side of a garage. They also had a bonfire going in the yard. Police advised them to keep the music down and stop disturbing their neighbor.
