Prisoner Attempts To Use Cops To Harass Ex-Girlfriend
A request for a welfare check turned out to be something very different.
A caller requested that police check on the welfare of a 4th Street woman. However, the officer discovered the request for a welfare check was coming from an ex who was currently in prison. They said there appeared to be a pattern of the ex and their family calling.
Officers said they were not going to bother the woman.
Woman Lies Down in Traffic on 11th Street
Just before noon, PPD responded to a report that a woman in a burgundy coat was walking in and out of traffic on 11th Street and lying down on the ground.
Officers gave the woman a ride to her daughter’s home in New Boston.
Frantic Search For Missing Elderly Man
There was a frantic search for an elderly man who went missing on Tuesday evening. A woman contacted officers to say her 81-year-old boyfriend took off on foot. That man required oxygen and had left home without it.
The woman and the man’s son said they had last seen him about 25 minutes previously. Officers sprang into action to search, but the son eventually located his father at the neighbor’s house.
Dispatch sent an ambulance which administered oxygen to the man and returned him to his family.
