Prowler Busted at 2nd Street Dairy Bar

Portsmouth officers responded to multiple reports of suspicious behavior. 

Around 1 am, a caller reported someone attempting to break into cars at 5th and Washinton Streets. When officers investigated, they found a man who said he had permission to sleep in a van parked in the area.  

A Madison Avenue caller reported an intruder inside their garage just before 9 pm. When officers arrived to investigate, they caught up with two men and the 2nd Street Dairy Bar and took one of them into custody. Officers booked him in the Scioto County Jail.

Police headed to the Oasis Convenient Mart at 9:45 pm after a caller said a man with a baseball bat was refusing to let him leave the store. By the time officers arrived, the man was gone.  

Just before 5 am, a caller reported a shoeless man hanging around Bar Benders. Police caught up with the man on 11th Street and took him into custody on a warrant for failure to appear and for drug possession.  

Police headed to the BP on Gallia after callers reported a man and a woman armed with a gun and a baseball bat hit a man in the head and ran off to a semi. Police took information for a report.
