A potentially dangerous situation was handled the right way thanks to alert medical staff and the quick response of Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Employees at SOMC Urgent Care in Wheelersburg called 911 after a woman came into the lobby for lab work but appeared “altered” and not in the right state of mind to safely drive.
Staff immediately stepped in, keeping the woman occupied until deputies could arrive. When a deputy got to the scene, they assessed the situation, contacted the woman’s next of kin, and arranged for family to come pick her up along with her vehicle.
👏 Teamwork That Keeps the Community Safe
Incidents like this highlight how frontline medical staff and law enforcement work hand-in-hand to protect both individuals and the public. By recognizing something wasn’t right and calling for help, urgent care staff likely prevented an impaired driver from getting on the road.
