Ramona J. Allen, 94, of Minford, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, at Portsmouth Health and Rehab Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 22, 1931, in South Webster, a daughter of the late Thomas and Ritter Adams Jones.
A 1949 graduate of South Webster High School, Ramona married the love of her life, Roger K. Allen, on September 22, 1951, beginning their 62-year marriage. As a proud Air Force wife, she embraced new places and experiences–making friends wherever they went and opening her home for gatherings. She had a special gift for making strangers feel like family.
After retiring from the military, they returned home to Minford, Ohio where they founded the family business, Allen’s Auctions. As cashier, she greeted customers with a friendly smile, quick wit, and familiar presence which comforted generations of bidders and friends, for over 45 years.
Ramona is survived by her son, Norman (Angela) Allen of Wheelersburg; two daughters, Marylin (Harold) Turner of Wheelersburg and Barbara (Paris) Caudill of Minford; seven grandchildren, Kristie (Jason) Johnson, Jessica (Zack) Plannick, Devan Parker, Candace Allen, Henry Allen, Sweden Walke, and Autumn (Austin) Riffe; and great-grandchildren Megan, Miranda, Tate, Jerris, JJ, Allison, Claire, Finley, Sullivan, and Summit. In addition, Ramona also leaves behind her childhood, and life-long friend, Velma Feagans.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roger; her brother, William Jones; and her sister, Helen Ramsey.
Graveside services were held at 12 Noon, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Gregory Cemetery on the Allen Family Farm in Minford. Arrangements were entrusted to D.W. Swick Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Pastor Mike Hannah officiating.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to SOMC Hospice and Portsmouth Health and Rehab for their compassionate and personal care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice, as Ramona and Roger were constantly donating their time and talents throughout the county, to various organizations.
