A rehab patient was left with no place to go after leaving a local facility.
Just after 4 pm, Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a complaint involving a patient. Counselors at the facility said the patient’s parole officer had advised them he would issue a warrant for their arrest if they allowed the patient to leave treatment.
Just before 7 pm, employees called for an ambulance to take a woman to the hospital. They said they had put her out of the facility, and she had nowhere to go. They asked for an ambulance to take her away because she was standing in front of the facility.
The rescue squad refused to respond to a non-emergency call and suggested they call Portsmouth Ambulance. Portsmouth Ambulance said it would be an hour before they could respond. We do not have access to the Portsmouth Ambulance call logs. The situation was obviously resolved, as no other calls for assistance were placed to law enforcement.
