Rehab Patient Cuts Off Ankle Monitor, Makes a Run For It 

Officers from Franklin County’s Probation Office contacted Portsmouth Police at 12:25 pm to report one of their charges had made a run for it from a Portsmouth rehab facility. 

They told them the man had cut off his ankle monitor and made a break from the treatment facility they’d sent him to.

Franklin County told officers the device was pinging in the 1400 block of Robinson Avenue. Portsmouth officers searched the area and found the ankle monitor. 

Franklin County officers said they would send someone from the ankle monitor company to pick it up.
