Across the city and county, emergency services and law enforcement continue to respond to multiple overdose incidents. Resources and personnel continue to be strained by these overdoses.

EMS Responds After Rubyville Overdose 

Multiple EMS units headed to the scene after a report of an overdose in Rubyville. Witnesses said the victim was unresponsive.  

Clay VFD acknowledged a page from dispatch and requested additional EMTs also respond to the scene. Unlike several recent cases where no EMTs were available for serious situations, multiple units were able to get to the residence.  

However, the patient refused medical treatment and did not want to go to the hospital.

Two Overdose At Gahm’s 

Medics and EMS responded to Gahm’s Pharmacy and Grocery in Lucasville after callers reported a man and woman overdosing in the parking lot and crawling onto the road just after 1 am.  

Witnesses said the pair were on the ground and acting dazed. Medics responded to the scene, but the pair had already left.  

Officers spoke with individuals who said they had helped the pair out of the road and taken them to a home of a friend to recover.  

First responders did not spot anyone in distress in the area. 

Overdose on 17th Street 

Officers and medics responded to Wayne Hills just before 1 pm for a report of an overdose. EMS personnel transported the male victim to SOMC for treatment.  

Just before 2:30 pm, a caller reported a woman overdosing in a silver car at the Portsmouth Senior Lofts. However, the woman left before officers arrived.
